Cross Trainer Elliptical Review: The Reebok RE13103 5.1e

!±8± Cross Trainer Elliptical Review: The Reebok RE13103 5.1e

Introduction:

If you're thinking about beginning a fitness programme, then you should know that an elliptical cross trainer is one of the best ways to exercise. Why? Because you get an effective, low impact workout on an elliptical, which means it's much easier on your joints than, for example, jogging outdoors on a paved roadway. On an elliptical, your body maintains constant contact with the machine, so there's no jarring up and down foot and leg movement. In fact, fitness experts often recommend elliptical trainers to people who suffer from joint-related conditions, such as arthritis. Here's a brief review of a cross trainer from industry leader Reebok: the RE13103 5.1e

Overall Rating:

4.5 out of 5.0 stars

Key Features:

We especially like the console display on this Reebok cross trainer because it's vivid and easy to read, thanks to back lighting. This means the display will be clearly visible even in low light situations.

The console display also is clear and logically arranged, so it's easy to read with just a glance. The console displays a good variety of exercise data and the RE13103 5.1e has 10 built in training programmes. Stored profiles can contain individual workout data for up to 9 different users, another handy feature.

Price:

About £450.00

Product Description:

In the world of fitness equipment, a quality elliptical trainer is rare to find at a price point under £500.00. Even if you do succeed in finding one in this price range, it's likely to be devoid of features like a console that displays a full range of exercise and workout data, resistance level, speed, time, distance, calories burned and heart rate. The Reebok RE13103 5.1e delivers all this and more.

Conclusion:

We like the elliptical cross trainer because it delivers a total body workout. We've also found that Reebok ellipticals consistently provide a comfortable and smooth low impact workout that's easy on the joints. Done correctly, a workout on an elliptical can burn more calories than on other types of cardio workouts, such as treadmills. The good range of programmes on the RE13103 5.1e keep the user engaged and challenged. For a great overall value, take a serious look at this full-featured elliptical.

Bremshey Cardio ER Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

!±8± Bremshey Cardio ER Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

The Bremshey Cardio ER recumbent bike offers great value for money. Many bike users prefer the recumbent style bike as they find it more comfortable than the standard upright bike. They are also considered better for people recovering from illness or injury whilst still offering a challenging workout for the athletic type. The Cardio ER seat can be adjusted horizontally and the back tilted for a more laid back position for comfort. As with all Bremshey bikes it has a smooth cycling action and hardly makes a sound. The built-in polar chip is useful as a chest strap is a more accurate way to measure your heart rate and you don't have to keep hold of the handles - please note the chest strap is not included.

There are in total 18 programmes with enough variation to keep you coming back to get fit. The heart rate programmes are very useful in our view but you're better off getting a chest strap to use as it's more accurate than the hand grips which can give a false reading simply due to sweaty palms and the weaker pulse in the hands when compared to the chest.

The backlit LCD display is easy enough to read but could perhaps be laid out differently, other manufacturers have better graphics to display work-out data. However, this shouldn't be a reason to put you off as it's a great bike at a great price.

The extensive warranty covers the frame and braking system is covered fro 15 years, and everything else for 2 years parts and labour.

Conclusion: Another winner from the trusty Bremshey in our view, combined with a superb warranty.
